Our Deck License Renewal course is designed for mariners renewing their U.S. Coast Guard OUPV or Master's license (not more than 100 tons) for operation in Inland, Near Coastal, or Great Lakes waters, even if they lack recent boating experience.
This course provides a convenient alternative to documenting time on the water. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate from us that the U.S. Coast Guard accepts as a substitute for sea time. This allows mariners to renew their licenses efficiently and continue their maritime careers without interruption.
Our Deck License Renewal Course is designed to facilitate the renewal of U.S. Coast Guard licenses, including OUPV (Six-Pack) and Master's licenses of not more than 100 tons for operation in Great Lakes, Inland, and Near Coastal waters.
In addition to renewing these licenses, the course also covers the renewal of attached endorsements, such as the Towing and Sailing Endorsements. This comprehensive course ensures mariners can seamlessly maintain their credentials and continue their careers without the need to document recent sea time.
If you hold an OUPV/Six-Pack or Master's captain's license but lack the required sea time to renew it, our Deck License Renewal course provides an effective solution. This course is especially helpful for mariners who are still within their license grace period.
However, once your license has expired and you are outside the grace period, this course will no longer be applicable for renewal.
Taking the course on time ensures you can maintain your credentials without the need for additional sea time.
The Coast Guard has a one-year grace period to renew your expired captain's license. However, they released an announcement about a temporary extension.
⚠ CAUTION: You cannot use your license professionally during your grace period.
