The Master's final exam is broken down into the OUPV and Master's Upgrade. You will complete both courses and both final exams. Together, they equal the Master's written requirement right off the bat. The OUPV test has four modules: Rules of the Road, Plotting, Navigation, and Deck General. The Master's Upgrade is a single module.
The 25/50/100 Ton Master's final exam is broken down into five modules:
| Exam Modules | Number of Questions | Minimum Score Required |
Number of Questions a Student Can Get Wrong and Still Pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chart Plotting |
10 | 90% | 1 Wrong |
| Navigation General | 50 | 70% | 15 Wrong |
| Deck General and Safety | 50 | 70% | 15 Wrong |
| Rules of the Road | 50 | 90% | 5 Wrong |
| OUPV Upgrade to Master's | 70 | 70% | 21 Wrong |
You can view the Master's testing by going to the following link and clicking the Online Testing tab. The OUPV Upgrade to Master's can be taken at a separate time from the OUPV final exam (which contains the Chart Plotting, Navigation General, Deck General and Safety, and Rules of the Road).
The average student takes around 3 hours to complete the Master's final exam.
Our 25/50 or 100-Ton Master's final exam is a closed book, just like our OUPV final exam. It’s essential to put in the effort to prepare, but our course is designed to provide you with all the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.
