What is the Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License (RG)?  

The Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License (RG) authorizes the holder to operate and perform basic equipment adjustments on Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) radio installations, but only for voyages that stay within 20 nautical miles of shore. This license also confers the operating authority of the Marine Radio Operator Permit (MP), allowing the holder to manage essential communication systems while ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations.
